Bramble & Oak
A little bit about us.
We are a mother daughter team, living and making soap in Talent, Oregon. My mom started making soap in her kitchen about 12 years ago. Once she mastered a few recipes, she started giving it away to friends and family...and I haven’t bought a bar of soap in the store since! Over the years we came to rely on her soap as a savior from dry, itchy skin, smelly fragrance, harsh cleansers, and numerous other additives that come in many soaps on the market.
I’ve always known my mom as a gardener, a grower, and a maker. She’s always grown much of her own food, and made many of her own products. With lots of encouragement, a little pushing, and a partner (me!) to deal with everything other than making the actual soap, we came to the conclusion that this soap should be put on the market so others could enjoy it as much as our family has. With some tweaking of the recipes to make it even more nourishing for the skin, and friendly to our planet, we are now a soap company. Living on acreages nestled into the hillside, surrounded by scrub oak and blackberries, our company got it’s name. Bramble & Oak.
We make products that we want to use. We test them on our friends, our family, and ourselves. We use simple, earth, people, and animal friendly ingredients. And now we're happy to be sharing them with you!
A little bit about the ingredients in our cold- process soap.
We use goat milk that is hand milked on a small family farm, here in Talent, Oregon. While not certified organic, it is unprocessed, raw milk from humanely treated goats.
Goat milk is fantastic for the skin, as it is high in alpha-hydroxy acids ( this aids in delaying skin aging, and breaking down dead skin cells naturally.) Anti-inflammatory properties, full of vitamins which feed the skin and are absorbed into the body (D,C,B1,B6,B12,E) treats acne naturally (through anti-bacterial properties that delay the growth of microbial organisms) due to the fat molecule content it acts as a moisturizer.*
Organic Olive Oil-
Olive oil provides incredible antioxidant protection, hydroxytyrosol (a rare compound found in olive oil which protects from free radical damage.) vitamin E (restores skin smoothness, protects against ultra violet light) and doesn’t clog pores. *
Organic Coconut Oil-
Coconut oil is an excellent moisturizer, and naturally antibacterial as well as anti-fungal.*
Organic Cocoa Butter-
Cocoa butter is fantastic for sensitive skin, helping to soothe the symptoms of eczema and psoriasis. This lovely ingredient works to fight the signs of aging in our skin (it contains cocoa mass polyphenols, which improve skin elasticity and skin tone, better collagen retention/production,and hydration.) a source of natural antioxidants, and prevents skin dryness.*
Our shea butter is sourced through a fair trade operation with the Global Mamas in Ghana. Though not certified organic, it is an unrefined, raw, pure product. By supporting the global mamas, we are helping to provide sustainable livelihoods for women throughout Ghana.
Shea butter is incredibly moisturizing due to a high concentration of nourishing vitamins and fatty acids. It smooths the skin through natural collagen production, prevents dryness, and reduces inflammation. *

Farm grown using organic practices, infused in the sun oils-
We are currently making our Calendula oil in house. Growing and harvesting the flowers, combining them with organic apricot and organic sweet almond oils, and setting them in the sun to make their magic. The end result is pure heaven. We are working toward growing more of our ingredients, and infusing more oils in the future.
I love essential oils....therapy in a bottle for both your body and your senses. There are so many amazing benefits to using essential oils in all aspects of life. Please check out the individual soaps for more info on the oils we use in our blends.
